One-Part, Rapid Drying Solvent-Based Primer for Porous Substrates Prior to Application of Polyurethane Sealants/Membranes Vulkem 171 primer is a quick-drying, one-part, moisture-curing primer that enhances adhesion to concrete, plywood and other porous substrates where Vulkem urethane sealants, membranes or coatings will be applied.

Usage/Purpose

Vulkem 171 Primer is used as an adhesion promoter for Tremco polyurethane sealants and membranes on porous surfaces such as concrete and wood.

Features & Benefits

  • Single component product provides efficient use of material for small areas.
  • Quick drying allows contractors to install membrane within 60 minutes of primer application.

Limitations

  • Do not apply over contaminated or damp surfaces.
  • Do not thin.
  • Do not use with Silicone, Acrylic or Bitumen technology.
  • Not to be used as a vapour retarder or efflorescence barrier.
