WPA Hydrophilic Self Sticky Waterstop
WPA Hydrophilic Waterstop is a self-adhesive, high-performance expanding waterstop designed to help prevent water ingress through construction joints in cast-in-place concrete structures.
Manufactured using an acrylic polymer base, the hydrophilic waterstop expands when it comes into contact with water, forming a positive seal against the surrounding concrete. When the product dries, it shrinks back towards its original size and can re-expand when exposed to water again.
WPA Hydrophilic Waterstop is designed for low-movement and static construction joints in both horizontal and vertical applications. Typical applications include cold joints, wall-to-base connections, penetrations, openings and interface sections between existing and new concrete.
Installation is straightforward, with a self-adhesive backing and no priming required. The waterstop can be installed directly onto suitable concrete surfaces or into a formed rebate. For best performance, the receiving surface should be firm, clean, dry, sound and smooth, with contaminants and loose material removed before installation.
The waterstop is available in two profiles:
- WPA HW 2005 (Red): 20 mm × 5 mm, 20 m roll
- WPA HW 2010 (Blue): 20 mm × 10 mm, 10 m roll
WPA Hydrophilic Waterstop is suitable for fresh and salt water installations and has a stated water pressure resistance of 7 bar after 14 days under the manufacturer's test conditions.
When installing, the waterstop should be firmly pressed onto the prepared substrate along its full length. Roll ends or cut ends should be tightly butt joined to create a continuous seal. Care should be taken during concrete placement to prevent the waterstop from being displaced.
