Duram 195 - Class III Premium black waterproofing membrane

Duram 195 is one of Australia’s most trusted liquid-applied waterproofing membranes, engineered for long-lasting protection across residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Available from The Waterproof Supplier, this high-performance, Class III polyurethane waterproofing membrane delivers exceptional flexibility, durability, and water resistance across a wide range of demanding applications.

Duram 195 cures to form a highly elastic, seamless rubber membrane that provides outstanding adhesion to concrete, render, masonry, fibre-cement sheeting, and internal wet area substrates. Its superior elongation capability and fast-drying nature make it ideal for applications where movement, vibration, or structural flex are present.

Designed for both interior and exterior waterproofing, Duram 195 excels on bathrooms, balconies, terraces, decks, rooftops, planter boxes, retaining walls, and anywhere long-term moisture protection is required. Once cured, it provides a tough, UV-stable, and extremely durable barrier that prevents water penetration, protects against environmental exposure, and helps extend the lifespan of the structure.

As a Class III membrane, Duram 195 meets industry requirements for wet areas, making it suitable for use under tiles, screeds, and other finishing systems. Its vapour barrier characteristics also make it ideal for below-grade applications where moisture control is essential.

Whether you're a builder, tiler, waterproofer, or DIY renovator, The Waterproof Supplier recommends Duram 195 for its reliability, ease of application, and superior long-term waterproofing performance. Trusted by professionals throughout Australia, Duram 195 is a proven solution for critical waterproofing projects where performance cannot be compromised.

Product Limitations

  • Not designed as a trafficable membrane; only suitable for infrequent maintenance foot-traffic during construction.
  • Not suitable for direct or prolonged contact with chlorine concentrations above 10 ppm.
  • Direct tile adhesion is not recommended — seek technical advice for tile-on-membrane applications.
  • Cannot be applied to damp, wet, or slightly damp surfaces — moisture will cause bubbling, gassing, and poor adhesion.
  • Substrate must be fully dry before application; no surface water or continual dampness allowed.
  • For exposed external areas, Duram 195 must be top-coated with Multithane ATC or fully covered.
  • Although UV-stabilised, Duram 195 is an aromatic polyurethane and will degrade under sunlight if left uncoated.
  • Not suitable for use as a waterproofing system over particleboard sheeting.
  • Not recommended for large non-porous areas without site-specific adhesion testing or technical advice.
  • Cannot be used when substrate temperature is below 4°C or above 43°C.
  • Requires compatible primers only; incorrect solvents or primers will lead to membrane failure.
  • Should not be used in areas where entrapped moisture may cause outgassing unless properly primed.
  • Must be installed strictly according to minimum dry film thickness (DFT) requirements for warranty and compliance.
  • Cannot be used for applications requiring continuous or high chemical exposure unless approved by Tremco CPG.
  • Not suitable for projects requiring direct traffic, heavy load-bearing, or abrasion resistance without protection layers.
