Product Details
Ultra Masonry Block Sealer is a penetrating, water-borne masonry sealer designed for use on concrete, brick, stucco, block and other masonry surfaces.
The product uses a polymer and acrylic formulation that penetrates the masonry matrix, fills voids and coats the interior particles. Once dry, it leaves a slight sheen on the treated surface.
Ultra Masonry Block Sealer is designed for industrial, commercial and residential use, with applications including sidewalks, driveways, parking decks, floors, ramps, walls, brick, pavers, stucco, cinder block and stone. The supplied product specifications also list applications across warehouses, commercial buildings, factories, roads, tunnels, bridge decks, parking structures, concrete roofs, subways and basements.
The sealer can be used inside or outside on new or old masonry, subject to appropriate surface preparation and application conditions.
Application is generally carried out using a low-pressure sprayer, applying the product liberally enough for the surface to absorb it without leaving puddles. Back-rolling can be used to even out the material and remove excess product from low areas.
Coverage is approximately 4–5 m² per litre, depending on the roughness and porosity of the surface. Highly porous, historic or aged surfaces may require a second coat to achieve the desired level of sealing.
Ultra Masonry Block Sealer is supplied as a one-component system at normal viscosity and should not be diluted with water. It has a milky appearance before drying, approximately 19% solids by weight and a stated VOC level of 66.43 g/L according to EPA Method 24.
The product is described by the manufacturer as non-flammable, non-toxic, low VOC and suitable for easy water clean-up, with a stated 10-year product warranty subject to correct application.
For best results, surfaces should be thoroughly cleaned, dry and free from dirt, dust, oil, grease, mildew, rust, loose material and other contamination. Where existing sealers or coatings prevent water absorption, Ultra Masonry Block Sealer should not be applied.
Allow the product to dry thoroughly before traffic is permitted. The supplied specifications state that the penetration and curing process can take 5–7 days, while walls or slabs should generally be allowed 24–36 hours before painting, using only a suitable moisture-resistant acrylic or oil-based paint.
Always test the product on the intended surface before full application and follow the manufacturer's current technical and safety documentation.
